Health and safety literature
Challenge: Health and safety literature is sadly often ignored by staff, but low levels of compliance are a serious organisational and legal issue. Our Bank of England client decided to use design to play a role in engaging staff in the subject and changing their behaviour.
Solution: Working in close collaboration with our client, we completely overhauled their suite of health and safety literature, using witty visual imagery to point up messages and a range of design principles to aid navigation and enable swift assimilation of key information. We produced a range of materials, including booklets, posters and exhibition stands, which spoke directly to the reader and – crucially – made compliance easy.
Results: Evidence suggests that compliance has increased by a phenomenal 100 per cent (as indicated by increased reporting of hazards and requests for workspace assessments.)
